About School

Hafiz Ahmed School (HAS) is located in Kandhovalimagu of Funaad district in Fuvahmulah City, where it is easily accessible.

With approximately 656 students, HAS offers a rich, hospitable, and cultural environment, while welcoming students from all the districts of Fuvahmulah City. Students are encouraged to attain high standards of performance within a family-like nurturing environment.

We provide child-centred, and project based education in line with the National Curriculum of Maldives. We accept students from Preschool(4-6 years old) to Secondary School(15-16 years old).

History

Hafiz Ahmed School was opened on 22nd April, 2004 by the Minister of Atolls Development, late honorable Abdulla Hameed. The school was named in honor of Al-Hafiz Ahmed Edhuru kaleygefaanu of Dhoondigum, Edhuruge of Fuvahmulah, who had rendered a remarkable service to the education of this island.

Initially, Hafiz Ahmed School was a full-fledged primary school with 38 staff and 458 students. Today, we have a population of 656 students studying in preschool, primary and secondary grades, while there are a total of 100 staff working in the school.
